First Steps - We would love to share our program with you!
We would love to share our program with you. Please give us a call at 203-795-3564 or email us at yalewestcampus@brighthorizons.com and a member of our administration team will schedule a day and time for you to come in and see our program in action!
If your visit is scheduled a week or more out we will send you an information packet in the mail. This packet will include general Bright Horizons information as well as some center specific information.
If your visit is scheduled within a week, we will have an information packet available for you when you arrive.
We look forward to meeting you!!
After Your Visit
You will be contacted by a member of the leadership team to see if you have any additional questions on our program following your visit. (Feedback on the visit is also welcomed!)
What's Next? Pre-Enrollment Registration
Once you have decided to enroll your child in our program, you will need to fill out the Pre-Enrollment Registration form found in your information packet and return it to the center along with your registration fee.
When we receive your Pre-Enrollment form and payment, the center will contact you to confirm that payment has been received and that you have been added to our wait pool of families seeking care for each specific month. The center admin team will support you and keep in contact with you throughout your enrollment process.
Within 30-90 days of your requested enrollment date, the center will email you an offer letter for care beginning on a specific date. Once you receive the offer, you will have 2 business days from receipt of the message to contact the center by phone or by email to accept or decline the space. Upon accepting the space, one full month’s tuition is due within 5 business days to secure a space for your family. This will be used as your first full month’s tuition.
If we do not hear from you within 2 business days, we will make two courtesy calls within 48 hours of the original deadline being missed to ensure that you have received the letter. If we are unable to reach you, this will automatically count as a decline; however your child’s name will remain on the wait pool list. You can decline a space (or have an assumed decline) up to 2 times before being automatically removed from the list. If you decline a space, you are responsible for indicating a new anticipated enrollment date.
Although we cannot guarantee exact enrollment dates, we do our very best to accommodate each family’s requested start date for care. We project enrollment about 2-3 months out and will notify you when space becomes available for your child.
Congratulations! You've been offered a space!
Once you accept the space and pay your tuition, the center will contact you to schedule a time for you to come in and review the necessary paperwork for enrollment. Also, at this time, you will visit your child's classroom, meet the teachers, and coordinate a transition schedule. We encourage you to revisit our program, prior to your start date, to ensure your comfort as well as your child’s.
Preparing for the first day
A child's first day at Bright Horizons is very exciting and important to the child, his or her family, and our team. We would like it to be a wonderful experience for all involved. The following are some tips from us to help with this transition to the center.
· Stop by the center with your child for short visits before the first day to let the child observe and interact with the children in their new homebase. Please call to set up a time to visit so that the teachers and the children will be prepared to welcome their new friend. Due to teacher/child ratios, you may be asked to stay with your child during these initial visits. It is recommended that after the first few visits, you try to leave your child for a short period of time.
· Review the information provided by your child’s teacher concerning needed items and daily schedule. You may want to bring your items in during the initial transition visits, so that on your child's first day, you can focus on spending that time with them.
· On the first day, take your child to the new room, say hello to the teacher, and make a brief farewell. It would be helpful to ease this first transition if you and the teacher discuss ahead of time what type of activity your child would enjoy being engaged in and how to say goodbye.
· Feel free to call the teacher during the day to see how things are going. Each child is different! One child may be upset when their parents leave, while another simply waves goodbye and jumps right in! Our teachers will be there to help both you and the child separate during this exciting new time. We will do whatever we can to help make your child's first day be a wonderful experience!
